Everyone thinks exam season is toughest for students. But honestly, it’s the worst time of year for teachers.
You get bombarded with requests to adjust their grades. Why are you even asking? Just take what you earned and do better next time. Stop skipping life lessons, and pay the price while it’s still cheap.
What’s worse is when you decline a student’s request, and suddenly you’re dealing not just with the student, but their parents, siblings, relatives, even other teachers.

Some students think they can get top grades and succeed in competitions. But life has opportunity costs. If you spend more time on Olympiads, your grades might go down - and that’s okay. University may reward you with grades, but that’s just a convenient fiction. Real life won’t be so generous.
Being an academic is a dirty business. Never become one. At best, you’ll waste years earning degrees. At worst, you’ll grow so accustomed to the dirt you won’t see the difference.
